I am incredibly proud of our children today, and the warm welcome they extended to our special visitor from Tanzania. Melina had a wonderful time, and she asked me to extend her thanks to the entire school community for the success of our link over the past few years.

The visit commenced with a special worship, where we greeted Melina with songs, impressed her with some Swahili, shared prayers and readings crafted specifically for the occasion. Some of the children even showcased their African dance moves!

We exchanged gifts, including books, footballs, specially crafted cards, and even some Ackworth Howard merchandise. Melina graciously took as much as she could fit in her suitcase back home. In return, our school received a beautifully handcrafted ornament as a symbol of our connection, to be proudly displayed. I was humbled and grateful to receive a pair of handmade shoes. There was even a pair for Mrs Walker!

During a guided tour of the school, the children articulately expressed their thoughts and asked some excellent questions, showcasing their thirst for knowledge and their engagement with the partnership.

Our partnership with our Tanzanian friends is highly esteemed and has become an integral part of school life. It not only facilitates the exchange of knowledge but also reinforces Christian values.
