This morning we had a special assembly where we were awarded our platinum OPAL award by Ana our OPAL mentor. Our OPAL Outdoor Play and Learning CIC journey was shared, the children talked about what they loved about play in school and we reflected on how far we had come.
To celebrate, a number of children performed a playtime rap with accompanying instruments that they had composed during their playtimes.
The children agreed that we have the best playtimes!!!
OPAL Mentor - 'The quality of play at Ackworth Howard is transformed compared to September 2021, when the school embarked on their OPAL journey. What a wonderful site full of playfulness and what a transformation! Children have freedom to choose from a great range of play opportunities, more freedom to roam and choose who they want to play with. Well done to the AH OPAL group, as they have been instrumental in developing play at the school, as well as to the play team supporting the fabulous play provision on offer. What an achievement!
