It is with deep sadness that we reflect on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She was not only our monarch but also the head of the Church of England. It has been important that we all had this time to think about the special relationship that she had with us. She leaves a profound legacy and an example we can all learn from about dedication, commitment to public life and of living the Christian values that we hold so dear – she was truly inspired by the ‘Good Shepherd.’
The children have had the opportunity to reflect, ask questions, undertake activities and participate in a minute’s silence during a special worship. We also joined the rest of the country in observing the bank holiday yesterday and remembering the life of Her Late Majesty, The Queen Elizabeth II. It has been extremely humbling to read comments written by staff, parents and children in school – Thank you.
Dear God,
Thank you for the life of the Queen,
For her love and service,
Help us to love and serve too,
Amen
