School Council representatives from Key Stage 2 have travelled to London to undertake a tour of the Palace of Westminster. The children visited the House of Commons, House of Lords, the Queens room and other areas of the Palace. The tour was led by an extremely well-informed tour guide and the children asked some excellent questions gaining a thorough knowledge of the rule of law and our democratic society.

The children also had plenty of time to enjoy being a London tourist visiting places such as Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards Parade, Hyde Park, Tower Bridge and Downing Street – They even had time to take a ride on the London Eye!

The children were excellent ambassadors for the Howard School and are now planning an assembly to teach all of the children about the rule of law and how a democracy works.
