“Children need safe, inclusive spaces in schools where they feel they belong; this is a foundation for wellbeing, learning and positive relationships.” – National Children’s Bureau

Howard’s Hub is our dedicated space for inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and support. Named after our school’s bear mascot, it’s designed to be a safe, calm, and purposeful environment where every child can feel seen, supported, and ready to return to learning.

The image of Howard as an astronaut reminds us that life can feel uncertain or overwhelming at times — but with the right support, every child can feel safe enough to explore, reflect, and grow. Whether pupils need help to regulate, take part in small group work, or receive professional support, Howard’s Hub is the launchpad for flourishing.

Rooted in our vision of life in all its fullness and informed by research into trauma, SEND, and emotional wellbeing, this space shows our commitment to building a school where every child belongs.
