What a wonderful week it was for showcasing the impact of our pupil leadership on the school community! During Anti-bullying Week, our ambassadors led whole-school worship, sharing key messages about respect and how to address bullying. They launched our 'Anti-bullying Sign' competition, with winners receiving a special prize and their designs displayed around the school. The ambassadors also introduced 'The Buddy Box,' where children can share their worries, and ambassadors will personally reply with advice or suggest speaking to a trusted adult.
It was fantastic to see so many children start the week by wearing odd socks, and continue engaging in activities shared during Friday's worship. A big thank you to the Young Voices group for their special song, linked to Anti-bullying Week.
We have also selected new Wellbeing Ambassadors, who have trained with the Wakefield Health team and completed challenges to create a school pledge. They will work alongside the Anti-bullying Ambassadors to promote positive mental health and support their peers.
The children have been busy marking Anti-Bullying Week with brilliant class activities. They created Scratch animations offering advice, decorated odd socks, and discussed kindness through stories. Others made respect pledges, sorted kind and unkind actions, and contributed to a ‘Choose Respect’ tree. A live lesson on respect also inspired thoughtful ideas on showing kindness and understanding to others. Great work, everyone!
