The children in Year 3 have embraced their roles as global citizens by carrying out a litter pick in the local area. They managed to fill several bags of litter. Afterwards, they analysed what type of litter they had found, where they'd found it and who might have dropped it. They considered ways to reduce litter pollution in their local area.

It was clear from the children's responses that they understood how small local actions can inspire and promote change on a global level.

Ben said, "every piece of plastic thrown away has a negative impact on the world. People reading our newsletter could help the planet by doing their own litter pick or recycling more at home."
