Year 2 have been investigating habitats and exploring the impact of pollution on environments whilst visiting the South Kirkby Recycling Centre today. This experience allowed the children to deepen their Science and Geography knowledge through a ‘your rubbish, our resource’ presentation explaining how rubbish can influence habitats and also explain what the staff do at the centre, a pond dipping and bug hunting activity and even an opportunity for the children to play in their secure outdoor area taking part in habitat games. The children have had a lovely day and represented our school in a positive way.
