The Eco-Council and Howard Ambassadors took the opportunity to meet this years Mayor, Councillor Charles Keith.
The children met the Mayor in his parlour within the Town Hall where he talked about his role and its history.
We then walked the short distance to County Hall where the children had the chance to undertake their own debate, chaired by the Mayor, within the Council Chambers.
It was such a privilege to observe the children sharing their views and articulating their thoughts about how to protect the planet and issues associated with climate change. The children expressed their opinions with confidence even using the microphones!
The Mayor’s final thought was that ‘the futures bright because it’s in your hands.’
