Peace Garden and Macmillan Coffee Morning

Thank you for supporting our Macmillan Coffee Morning and Peace Garden opening.

We raised a fantastic £421.97 for a great cause! Thank you.

As a Church School, our objective was to create a beautiful space which fosters the children’s spiritual development and offers opportunity for thinking and reflection. It was also built In loving memory of staff, family and friends.

The Worship Group and the children in school worked with a designer to plan the garden. The garden has 3 distinct zones – prayer, remembrance and celebration and the choice of planting and landscaping reflects each focal point.

The children are now working on practical suggestions for utilising its full potential. Each zone will have different stations for the children to interact with and be inspired by.

We want the children to explore the senses and plan activities which offer opportunities for reflection and prayer.

Children can use the area using their own initiative and spontaneity and it can also be used to provide variety to worship sessions in class and smaller groups.

I would like to thank the children, and everyone involved in the development of the Peace Garden for all of their hard work, support and commitment to the project.
