School Council - Palace of Westminster Tour

On Friday, School Council representatives from Key Stage 2 travelled to London to undertake a tour of the Palace of Westminster.

The children visited the House of Commons, House of Lords, the Queens room and other areas of the Palace.

The tour was led by an extremely well-informed tour guide and the children asked some excellent questions gaining a thorough knowledge of the rule of law and our democratic society.

The children also had plenty of time to enjoy being a London tourist visiting places such as Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards Parade, St. James Park and Downing Street (where the children interviewed a Police Officer) – We even had time to visit the Lego shop!

The children were excellent ambassadors for the Howard School and have now delivered an assembly teaching all of the children about the rule of law and how a democracy works. Thank you to our local MP John Trickett and his office for supporting our visit.
